Figure 4-19: The Routing Settings screen.

Use this screen to specify whether to enable dynamic routing using OLSR.

Enable Border Routing  should be enabled when the router is connected to the Internet and should advertise route to other members of the network.

Enable Mesh Visualzation should be enabled when a border router wishes to allow applications to retrieve network visualization data.  For additional information about such an application see Router Registration and Monitoring.

Enable Link Quality (Fisheye/ETX) to enable link quality Fisheye routing along with ETX (Expected Transmission Count) link quality metric. Based on the packet loss of a link between two mobile nodes ETX predicts the number of attempts required for successful transmission of a packet via this link.  All members of the network need to have this option enabled in order for this option to work properly.

Enable Secure OLSR and Secure OLSR key are enabled if the messages passed between routing members should be encrypted.  All members of the network need to have this option enabled and use the same key in order for this option to work properly.

After you make changes to this screen, click Update to apply and save those settings. Note that only the changes you made on the current screen are applied and saved.
